*waits for the squirming to stop, cackling*

We're home, safe and sound. It was a much longer trip than usual because we kept stopping every forty-five minutes for stretch/bathroom breaks, as [livejournal.com profile] anzovin was having a back spasm and the rest of us were just stiff... plus eating lots of bad for me stuff all week + traveling + getting thrown off my usual routines = rather unhappy digestion. Still we made it... which is especially triumphant as once we crossed the MA border I drove the rest of the way home. On the highway. For the first time ever. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeah.... It's been a bit since driving gave me the shakes after parking, but this time I did have to sit down and have myself a freakout. That done, it wasn't too bad... other than I can't merge worth shit and those sharp daisy-wheel curves getting on and off the highway scare the shit out of me. Oh and tractor trailers, though the road was so thankfully empty that I only had to deal with the one (empty road at night was really the only reason why I even volunteered to drive.)

So yeah. Working off the adrenaline high right now. We'll see if I get to sleep.

There really is no place like home sometimes. Just coming back to your own space, your own stuff, and most especially your own bed and computer after being on the road for a while... ahhhh. Tomorrow I have no plans other than laundry, putting my ish away, picking up my scrip at CVS and having some lunch with [livejournal.com profile] captainlove as he has wheels this weekend. And you know... hugging my cat and [livejournal.com profile] morlock a bit too. But now... pajamas and Entertainment Weekly/end of Kushiel's Mercy time!

Bah. Sunday nights are somehow more Sundayish after a week off from work... especially if you've spent that week in a not exactly restful and vacationy manner.

Still, the first half of my day was pretty quality at least. Made a spontaneous plan to do lunch with captainlove today, which ended up being more breakfast than anything else (Miss Florence makes rather yummy hash) after which we wandered over to his bat cave after a copy of a Master Harley book (yay!) and ended up hanging out there shooting the shit and watching/laughing at porn, some of which I asked him to burn copies of for me. Also scored some buffalo stew for tomorrow's lunch, which is a prize indeed because got-damn, that man can cook. I will enjoy that tomorrow, quite possibly whilst cackling maniacally.

Came home in the sleety yuck and was displeased to remember I had to go back out in it again owing to impending critical perscription failure. Le sigh. Thankfully the universe saw fit to reward my efforts - I had mentioned how nice it would be to have a set of LED tea lights so I could actually use the candelabra in my room without setting the house aflame (and cast it free, away its wretched world of tethers?) and score, what did I find for five bucks in the holiday aisle? The candle cups are in the freezer as I type, for more efficient chipping away of the remains of the last candles I burnt in there... and you know, washing the two years worth of dust that had gathered in there. Yeesh. But tonight I will light it! I am very excited about this. Especially since after their 120 hours are done, I can just change the batteries.

LED shit is so damn neat.

plan for tonight is to get my room more or less sorted out - I've got a pile of unpacked and fresh laundry that needs to be put away, and I need to get stuff in order for the leap back to reality tomorrow. *yeeeesh* morlock's making dinner, so I'm looking forward to that as well.

Off to it then...
