I lied. I do like black raspberries. They have to be wild though, cause the wild ones are just small and sweet enough to trick me into thinking that I'm not actually eating a berry-like substance. I had a handful this afternoon as I was walking along the railroad tracks with the company canines, and they were yummy, especially as I had not as yet had anything for lunch. So I stand corrected.

Methought mine ears were decieving me as I charged up the driveway home from work, but alas, no the pseudo cheery and very flat electronic tones of a passing ice-cream truck were indeed wafting their insidious way across the quiet back yards of Smith's backyard. Even though it wasn't playing the same tune as the horrible ghettoass Mr. Softee trucks did back in Flatbush, it still made me want to lunge for the nearest cinderblock to bash it's little speakers in. I wonder where this vendetta against ice cream trucks sprang? was it because I never was allowed to go out and get any growing up?

In other news, I got up the hill without shifting gears once today. Go me!

I've always thought other trucks should annoying music playing in order to attract little tykes to pollinate their financial coffers. Like a book-mobile playing "video killed the radio star" or a condom-mobile playing "Every sperm is sacred." I could really go for some ironic shit like that.

Back in the good old days when my bike didn't have a flat that I've been too lazy to fix, I used to make myself ride everywhere in the top gear, just for maximum challenge. I guess I figured that if I was going to ride my bike, I was by gum balls going to get some exercise, and that was the only way to do it. On the other hand, I also didn't ride my bike to get places...

yep that's me, although the only reason why I ride around in the top gear is because the bike goes faster with the least amount of pedaling. And I can't say I'm not enjoying the shape of my calves these days *purr*

So what *did* you ride your bike for then?

lycra pants

Why, for exercise, of course. I also used to admire my calves after a good 10-15 mile ride at top speed. With a walkman for company, it didn't even seem to take that long. I seem to remember I listened to one mix tape in particular -- one with a bunch of Ani on one side, some R.E.M., Adiemus, Modern English, Solas and more. In fact... I think I need to find that tape right now. And if I remember right, you've heard it too! OK, just once, when I visited Smith for Jai's Christmas party type thing.

Oh! Where was I? Off to find that tape...
