Mix Tape Maven strikes again
Jul. 17th, 2003 08:06 amSo I have finally finished my Songs without Words tape, and it is beautiful.
Songs Without Words is a mix tape/CD theme originally started by either
darkling_dreams or
gossamer_gull, I don't quite remember which and just involved putting your favorite music without actual lyrics into a compilation. It was something I always wanted to do, and never quite got right until now.
The track list is as follows:
Side A:
Side B:
There's of course more that didn't fit (may still swap or squeeze in Ray Lynch's Celestial Soda Pop) but I suppose that can wait for another tape . . . I also kinda cheated with the last song, as Hymn does have words, except sung very softly . . . Still. It's beautiful.

That'd be me....
Date: 2003-07-17 08:46 am (UTC)she sings songs without words
songs that sailors and blind men and beggars have heard
she knows more of love than the poets can say
and her eyes offer something that won't go away
I believe that there is a version of Vangelis's "Hymn" that has no singing. With or without the voices, that tune is one of my mostest favoritests.
So, do I get a copy of this mix? The car I'm looking into buying has a tape deck....
no subject
Date: 2003-07-17 11:22 am (UTC)I'm not sure I could come up with a full tape, or even 80 minutes worth without a fair amount of repetition... must expand repertoire...
Mmmm . . . sweet buttery mix tape . . . *drool*
Date: 2003-07-17 09:05 pm (UTC)I keep waiting for the technology-freaks to come up with longer CDs so that I can add to my musical chronology. I know that Chloe's theme from Noir would definately make it on as well as Electronaut by VNV Nation and something ethereal from .hack/sign.
