morlock finally finds out this morning what his birthday present is after putting up with me teasing him about it since last week.

morlock: Why are you dressed up?
kjpepper: For tonight.
M: Where are we going?
KJ: [mysteriously] Chicopee.
M: OMG we're gonna get shot.
KJ: [peeved] We're not going to get shot.
M: You're going to get me shot for my birthday.
KJ: No I'm not.
M: [suspiciously] You're not taking me to Anthony's, are you?
KJ: If I were taking you to a strip club, I'd tell you.
M: [relieved] Ok.
KJ: I wouldn't just spring that on you!
M: Thank you.
KJ: Besides, Anthony's is in South Hadley. We're going to Chicopee.
M: It's right on the line. It's still on Memorial Drive.
KJ: Oh. Well, we're going to Memorial Drive...
M: Are we going to the HuKeLau?
KJ: Yep.
M: [suspiciously] Who's playing?
KJ: Someone who's going to give you stiffy material for weeks.
[pause]
M: [incredulously] Caroline Rhea is NOT playing the HuKeLau!
KJ: [with big "I win everything" grin] Yes she is.
M: [tacklehugs KJ]

birthday + keeping track of your partner's favorite stand-up comedians = I think I just got the best girlfriend evar award this morning.
