kjpepper: (whee!!)
  • Holy shit. It's almost warm enough out there to have me considering cracking a window. Granted this also means that there are puddles the size of Puffers Pond (and probably just as toxic from what I hear, lol) in Northampton's parking lots where all the ice is melting in one fell swoop.
  • Either I got more coordinated in the past four years, or DDR for consoles is a lot easier than the machines in the mall. I'm seriously considering getting an xbox360 just so I can play it when I'm in NY. Well, okay, also cause I wanna play Bioshock too. Though I could always play that on my compy, but my computer monitor is a lot smaller than Dad's TVs (yes, that counts the HD monstrosity in our living room). The hilarious part is I can totally see Dad being HIGHLY entertained by watching me narrowly avoid falling on my ass playing this. That and I'm pretty sure I can get Ruthy into it as well.
  • There was a #3 here, but I forgot it. So instead, I'll just state that I've had a NOS, will probably be having coffee in the next hour or so, and will probably be running around the house when I get back doing chores at Mach 3 and cackling like Margaret Hamilton. Whee.

Urgk.

Ass-early this morning: Check voice mail. I have an extremely silly NOS fuelled message from the Blue (saved) and a cheery notice saying I have an appointment with my regular Doctor at 4 today. Well shit, forgot about that, and now it's too late to cancel it without getting fined. Hell. Resolve to try anyway once office is open.

8:45am: call from Dr. Tassoni's. Oh boy. "Have your primary care run x y and z test next time you see her. Oh and we're gonna call you back in a minute to schedule a cat scan. And Dr. Tassoni wants to see you a bit sooner than March 4th, can you come in Friday the 13th?" Sure fine, whatever... okay, looks like I won't be canceling that appointment with Dr. Kate then.

8:50am: "o hai kan u do lolcat skan on Thursday the 12 at like 8 am?"

So apparently, on top of hectic workday and lunch at Osaka with [livejournal.com profile] sithlord1922, I now have to be in Amherst at 4pm for more poking and prodding. *sigh* granted I was pointed in that general direction today anyway so it ultimately works out, but arg. I am so damn sick of this shit...

There is a pristine, virgin, uncracked bottle of NOS on my desk... :D Should I drink it??? Y/N

You know, I could swear there was a time in my past where I could eat onions and not still taste them 12 hours later. Goddamn it.

Today, as opposed to yesterday's taurine enhanced craziness, was a day of utterly self-indulgent recumbance. Seriously, I spent a good portion of today lying around in bed curled up with [livejournal.com profile] sundart. Which was fine, as I can't remember the last time we spent an entire day hanging out, reading, chatting, cuddling, and being asses at each other. *shakes head* I love how we've been together so long that we can appreciate each other's cracked humor and join in on the next line of whatever song or movie quote we're on at the time.

On a more serious note, the rest was needed. I still hadn't really recovered from this week, and sundart's been assigned the duty of Keeper of the Sanity for [livejournal.com profile] anzovin, who is due to lose his dad within the next week or so. Cancer's a bitch ass nigga. No seriously, it is. I have to wonder if all of that going on sparked the dream last night of visiting Mom in the hospital... probably. *sigh*

We didn't quite spend the whole day in bed. We ventured outside with Mrs. [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat (aka General McWifeypants) to try the new Japanese restaurant across the street, which does not only have sushi despite what the name would imply... and I'm severely in trouble, as I have found a place in the Valley besides Osaka that makes sukiyaki. O. M. G. I didn't order any today as it is a rather expensive indulgence (I got the Arigatou Roll instead - very tasty!), but you can bet the next time I have a little extra money and am in need of a treat I will be getting some. Sukiyaki is only like my favorite thing ever (and I completely blame too many watchings of Rurouni Kenshin for putting it in my head to even try the stuff). Even better is that this place has the option of making it with chicken. o_O Excuse me while I have a strange, heavenly interlude...

Anyway.

Our outdoor adventures also included getting envelopes for our cards, so last call if y'alls want one, drop me an email with your address - kjpepper at gmail. Hopefully we'll get at least some of those mailed tomorrow. We also got a Sky bar... If you can find these strange little chocolate bars (they're made by Necco in limited editions every year considering they have to fire up this ancient monster of a candy making machine to make them) I highly recommend them, especially if you have friends who like different things in their chocolate.

This weekend has also been full of the interesting wedding/kids/what the hell are we doing with the rest of our lives? conversations. Not too much to report yet, except girlie and I have picked out rings, and it seems that, unsurprisingly, sundart has been elected the Great White Hope (*snort*) of the Amoeba in terms of spawning.

My connection's going up and down like a yo yo so I think I'd best take that as a sign, post this, and go (back) to bed. Just me and the cats for the forseeable future at night, but I'm okay with that... though if I want any peace at dawn, I should go feed the monsters now.
