Been seeing this particular meme all over and whilst I support the general sentiment, the wording squicked me just enough to refrain from my usual MO of jumping in gleefully with the rest of the memesheep.

Love is Love. Marriage is the state in which N people are formally joined together with certain legal rights and obligations toward each other.

Though I'm not 100% on this version either - a state of marriage can just be a pledged commitment without the legal mumbo jumbo, as I see it - this gels a little bit better with my point of view. Contrary to certain views propogated by Old Blue Eyes, love and marriage don't necessarily have to go together like a horse and carriage...

...but even if they do, everyone should have the option. :)

Slowly but surely, making progress on that sci-fi paper draft. I forgot how excruciating writing English papers actually is. Give me an in-class exam over this bullshit - it's over much quicker. *sigh*

Anyways, about a week back I posted a list o' crap I need to "get to." Procrastination is a fabulous impetus to get some of this other shit done. Checking in...

• backup, format and restore Master Freak
  
• cover, burn and send "Futurepop Phantom" to the three people I promised copies to. - Making progress here... *crosses fingers*
  
• clean room, rearrange furniture
  
• go through and organize the desk drawers and other crap I've got in the study
  
• type up the snippets of story I've been scribbling into my notebooks during class
  
• go though clothing and rampantly salvation army the stuff I don't wear and am realistically never gonna.
  
• get g.g.'s Christmas present framed
  
• go to darklandmusic.com and yell at them since darkling_dreams' Christmas presents haven't gotten here yet either. It's been over a month, what are they doing??? - FINALLY got a "your order has shipped" notice in my email this morning. About goddamn time.
  
• Familiarize myself with the enormous binder o crappy documentation from Primitive Leather so I can make their online store a lot less ugly.
  
• Catch up on Buffy and Angel I missed during the last Buffy weekend
  
• Finish the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever
  
• Finish organizing and tagging the family music collection - And I would just like to say that Winamp 5 is... no words... ♥♥♥♥♥
  
• Make the "Arabian Nights" mix I've been percolating for a couple of weeks
  
• Make the superbatshit extended booty mix I've been percolating for a little while longer. Test thoroughly. >;)
  
• Make a few CDs worth of car tunes for inle_rah, as she now has to commute to work.
  
• See if there are any beadwork projects I should finish up
  
• Start a new, mold-free generation of strawberries and aloe.
  
• Watch the second season of Cowboy Bebop
  
• Scrub the kitchen floor
  
• go to Amherst and grab meself a black-girl's hair dryer. With comb attachment.
  
• Write, damn you, write!
  
• Find out what the hell is going on with me IRA.
  
• Do my taxes

And one new item:

• Make Angry Irishpeople mix! Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, The Pogues, Solas... well, they aren't angry, but they have kickass reels. :)
  
• Resurrect the MSFC web site with complete (and searchable) archives
  
• Redesign my web site.
