Oh how I love my big dumb blond pansy of a boycat, and how lets anyone smaller than him step all over him.

So as a little experiment, we introduced him to [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat's Meara. Who was duly displeased with Valentino's presence and made it quite well apparent that she did not want him there. He, meanwhile (bless him) is all like "what did I do??? Hey!" *shakes head* I don't get it either, hon. You may be enormous, but you're about as scary as navel lint.

I think fishing a well loved book off the shelf to distract me and bedding down with a book is in order now.

One of the main reasons that I will probably continue to take the PVTA even after I get my license is that I'd miss chatting with the bus drivers if I stopped. Especially Phil. The man will talk until your ears fall off in protest, but goddamn, he's interesting. One of those guys who's packed a lot of living into his years (and there aren't all that many of them, considering the depths of his experiences). Anyway, I just got off the bus after a long chat about classical music which sidetracked into Victor Borge and PDQ Bach (wow, someone else who listens to PDQ Bach!!! Awesome!) and then he revealed that he is the keeper of the Holy Grail - namely he has a CD with the recording of "New York, New York" played on old car horns, and he's going to lend it to me. I swear my little heart just turned cartwheels with joy.

He also made me realize that I've pretty much abandoned my music lately. Not just the playing of it, though he firmly ordered me to go home tonight and pick up my violin for fifteen minutes. But I really haven't been listening to it much either since the car hit me and my iPod went bye bye. Really all I've been hearing are the few songs I snatched off of my drive and put on my work computer and I've long since tired of those, and occasionally cool stuff off of [livejournal.com profile] athene's iPod when she brings it in. I also haven't made any mixes in a while, for which I have utterly no excuse, 'specially since I have the Green mix all ready to go and added one more track to it yesterday. Which is kinda sad really. There was a time when I spent just about all of my time jacked in to some sort of sound... and I miss it. Probably time to pick up the various aspects of it again. Even if by now attempting to play my old friend'll sound more like cats mating violently than anything else. Not to mention I can probably plug my keyboard into my stereo... course, I'd have to find the power cord for it first. I also sure as hell can't play clarinet with hard reeds anymore - I'd blow holes through my cheeks.

Note to self, stop by Downtown Sounds before going to the Big Mall tonight. I apparently should pick up a few little things...

On another note, something to remember - Phil mentioned a place in Wisconsin called House on The Rock that I apparently must see sometime in my life. I can't imagine when I'll be in Wisconsin of all places, but if the collection of old pneumatic powered musical ensembles is as neat as Phil says, I will indeed have to check it out at some point. Maybe during that proverbial cross country road trip me and the girl want to take at some point... Hmm. I smell possible honeymoon idea. >:D

damn it, must reupload rest of icons. I found 15 ultimately too stifling and paid for extra ones when I renewed my account. Be nice to see and use my old friends sometime...
