Stupid censorship.
Sep. 17th, 2007 11:01 amDear FOX,
I realize that you are the media lapdog of what we erroneously call the Right, but I feel the need to alert you to my extreme annoyance with you at this time. While I realize that Sally Field is rather incapable of delivering an acceptance speech that is devoid of goofy, there was no need to censor the last two words of it at last night's Emmy Award ceremonies, especially as she had just begun to make sense. We all know what she said anyway, and though I know this comes as a great shock to you, quite a lot of your audience agrees with her.
No love,
Andee
UGH. I really hate live TV sometimes just for this very reason, especially when there's footage substitution. I don't know why, it always has pissed me off and/or creeped me the hell out. I think it's the sudden jarring discontinuity of a sudden jump cut, like last night where one second there was Sally Field pontificating rather tritely about war and the next second, in the middle of a word, no less, we cut to a camera way up in the rafters where the stage area is obscured by decor, but not enough to hide that this is a shot taken from earlier when there was no one on the stage and no sound either. WTF? was Sally Field suddenly abducted by aliens? Did the Gentlemen come and steal everyone's voices? News at 11? Commercial?
And they wonder why the ratings for award shows are going down.

Well crapkakke.
Sep. 17th, 2007 09:39 pmIt dawned on me today that I have written not a single bit of fiction, not even a sentence, in over a year, possibly two. This is unacceptable for a number of reasons:
So. Long story short, I am totally doing NaNoWriMo. We'll see how it goes leading up to it, and afterwards. Also, am definitely hauling my ass back into therapy. Time to start actually dealing with the whole ADD issue, I think...
- Writing used to be my fucking lifeline. There were stretches of time in the past where I would be content to simply hole up in my room and bury myself in worlds and stories that had little to do with life as I normally know it, only stopping to eat, sleep and go to school. The last time that happened for real was almost five years ago, and the story was strictly game related, with an audience of my role playing group. But seriously... there was a time where I was sustained and fed spiritual by the worlds I spun onto blank pages and somewhere during my tenure at Smith that completely derailed... for years afterword, except the semester I took a writing short stories class, I only wrote sporadically, but it seemed like it was enough, but now I'm not writing AT ALL. No fucking wonder I've been feeling so creatively dismal lately!
- I just spent the last hour and a half reading through the folder of story fragments, scenes, introductions and vignettes I've migrated from computer to computer since I revived Master Freak after his hard drive crash (thus wiping out almost everything I'd ever written up to my first year in college). Despite that loss, it's still a good ten years of unrealized potential there, especially since some of them after this long were actually pretty good. Not to mention I've had a couple of stories and characters kicking and screaming in my head for a few weeks now.
- What's his face at the ORF was right... It's time for me to stop hiding my poems/writings and start, well getting them out there. I'd like to have something published sometime... and not just in Dream's library. I know when the groove hits me and I put my brain into it I can write good shit... I just need to fucking sit down, find my long-gone focus, and just do it.

!!!*@#^@??????
Sep. 17th, 2007 11:25 pmDear Reebok,
These are my sneakers. The ones I've been pretty much buying exclusively since the age of what, nine?
These are my sneakers on drugs.
Do I have any questions? Why, yes. What the bloody blessed hell kind of crack are you collectively smoking up in there!!!????
Baffled and somewhat frightened,
Andee
On the other hand, these are rather Hot-Topicalicious... I'm rather ashamed for liking them. Nonetheless - sticking to basic black, thank you. Yeesh.
