My hard drive is indeed okay. This afternoon when I came back from work there was a joyous reunion between me and this:

3rd floor is a start

but it's only the 3rd floor you say. Pff, it took me nearly a MONTH just to get that right.

But yeah, Beavis's brain is just dandy, even if his body's dead. He looks forward to a prolonged existance as a USB drive. It's really a pity LaCie Brick doesn't make enclosures - it would be sort of appropriate for Beavis to continue life as a gigantic LEGO bick. As it is, once an enclosure is found he will be starring in the computer remake of The Brain That Wouldn't Die, Complete with MST3K shadows.

I did lose a few files, but none I was particularly attached to. All of which were in the Documents and Settings folder - yet another instance of why you should never ever ever ever ever save anything in a directory that is part of Windows. Any time I've lost any data pertaining to some sort of hardware failure, it's always on the Desktop or in the My Documents folder, meanwhile any files I've saved on C: or a subdirectory of C, they've been just fine. So those of you with Itunes Music libraries and pictures, beware. Me, all I lost were some crappy celly pictures. I was going to make a little gallery of them, but now never mind. Which is perfectly okay, as I'm not kidding about teh crappy.

So, I rather quickly got frustrated with Lego Digital Designer. It's grand if you have a computer with lots of ram (ie, not Beavis) and you want to toss together an actual legoland type of model, and you don't need a ton of precision. So, after hunting through Google for a bit and on the advice of some folk in the legos comm, I switched over to MLCAD. Cue much happier Andee. (Not to mention a much happier Beavis, - he'd heat to the point of egg and/or thigh frying whenever I ran LDD.)

So tired - I was up late playing with "legos" because I was nervous about coming back to work today. Still, even on only three or four hours of sleep and a mad dash to get here early, it's not that bad. I just have a crapton to do.

BTW - local sweet corn, still in the husk, microwaved for five minutes then shucked and buttered? O. M. G. It was worth the serious digestive complaints afterward. So good. Thank you [livejournal.com profile] sydneycat. Just make sure I stop at one next time. :)

Right, caffiene, then OMG WORK.
